We, Soupa 6, are a group of design students that collaborated in creating the Ngár-go's Soup-er Recipe zine. The zine is a design response to our study of the native indigenous Food Culture in Melbourne, particularly Fitzroy (Ngár-go). We wanted to challenge the different perspectives and mainstream narratives that Ngár-go has to offer.
We hope to share our views, understanding, and experience as transient visitors in our zine. Ultimately, opening up new discussions on the journey Ngár-go/Fitzroy has gone through prompts audiences to choose their own interpretation of its state. The overall visual uses soup as a metaphorical element of our own journey from start to end to bring the zine in a light-hearted manner.
